my parents in front of mccomb printing, inc. late 1980?
i can smell the ink as i write this. you see, i grew up in a print shop. my father is a printer. an old school printer who truly knows the art and craft of printing. funny enough, his name is forrest and he has worked with paper the last 45 years of his life. having really weathered the industry changes over these last 40 plus years. so much about printing is different now. almost everything.
growing up, my brother and i practically lived at the print shop. the business was so tightly woven into the fabric of each of our lives. and as a cool perk, i always had the prettiest reports, personalized note pads, stationery, etc. i even had personalized paper lunch bags and engraved graduation invitations.
i write this because my parents printing company will celebrate its 30th anniversary in a few weeks. here's to them... their tanicity, fortitude and sticking with it side by side these last 30 years. oh, the stories they have to tell about owning a business. wishing you mom and dad many more years of success!

Thank you Tara! I love you! And did you get that ink out of your pants yet?
Great photograph! I still remember your radio commercial for the business when we were in kindergarten. You said whatever you were supposed to, and then at the end, you asked something like, "Did I do good, Daddy?" "You did very good, honey." You should track it down and post it.
As for your other post, it reminds me that I need to read The Help before too much longer.
thanks michael! so funny you remember that commercial. i need to dig it out. i think it is on a cassette tape somewhere.
