leaving the kroger on a different saturday

there really is something special about the kroger in my hometown. so many memories blossom when i think of this grocery store. do you want to know one of the best things about it? it hasn't changed. not one bit. it is the same place i experienced as a child. i think we even bought a few of our christmas trees here while i was growing up. the aisles, the muzak, the deli, the little window that is tinted so the manager can catch thieves. it is all still there in its perfect place.
do you want to know what is sad? i recently had a dream that the kroger had been remodeled/updated. everything had changed. i was beyond devastated (in my dream of course) but i know i would be in real life too.
as an adult i frequented the kroger every saturday with my grandmother. she no longer drove, (a post for a later date) so saturdays were our day. she always had a warm batch of muffins and coffee ready when i arrived to pick her up. i'd talk and talk and talk and she'd finish her grocery list. our kroger shopping experience was more like running a marathon. it could last up to four hours. this was not for the faint hearted. this lady is one savvy shopper.
thank you kroger for being a mainstay in mccomb and not changing too much over the years.

they changed the paint color on the front about a month ago. Looks like the same color just new paint.
