I have a serious thing for vintage photos.... this is a favorite childhood photo of my dad....the background shadows are amazing, as is his face in this pic.
I absolutely adore the overalls he is wearing. I am sure they were probably handmade by my grandmother...but how cool are they. So 1950s... Now, if only I could find some like this for Little Row.

I would say he's standing in front of a sycamore. I remember seeing lots of sycamores on Staten Island. I think they must have been the main street tree.
My mother made many such photos of me. Her shadow in the background; a tree or a post appearing to come out of my heard; me squinting into the sun...Nice.
